Predictable

One evening last week....
The greeting from the cashier at the drive-thru window of Arby's: "I thought that was you. You're here earlier than usual."
Which means I'm a regular.

And then tonight...
"I'd like a Chicken Club Salad combo with a Sprite, please."
"Would you like anything else?"
"No, that's all."
"Nothing else?"
"No, that's fine."
I pull around to the window. "No potato bites?" my cashier and new best friend asks.
"Not tonight." And I'm laughing but thoroughly embarassed at the same time.
She hands me my bag. "Maybe next time! See you later!"
I think I have to start cooking more.

That's his name, don't wear it out

There is only one person that I know who would take the time to stay on the phone with me as I drove from Best Buy to Circuit City to see if C.C. had the new R.E.M. DVD ("When the Light is Mine") in stock. That same person was also able to tell me, based on his impressive knowledge of the layout of Circuit City stores everywhere, exactly where in the store the music DVDs were located. He actually guided me by phone from 150 miles away. This same person is the one I called while I was in Best Buy deliberating over whether or not to buy the new R.E.M. retrospective CD ("...And I Feel Fine") or try another store. We compared notes. This same person is the one who had called his local Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Wal-mart looking for the best deals on the aforementioned CD and DVD before he went out shopping.
He is the LMGC, and he more than earned his name today.
